It doesn’t matter how much you love your laptop. Sometimes these accidents just happen. But usually, this doesn’t lead to a permanent damage. You can recover it yourself by following simple instructions on this page.

- Turn off your laptop immediately
First thing to do is turning it off. If liquid reach your motherboard while it’s turned on, you could be in deep trouble. So turn it off as soon as possible.
- Disconnect Laptop from Power Source
We all know that electricity and water doesn’t work well together. If it’s connected to a wall socket, safely remove it from it.
- Remove Battery & all other removable devices
Next thing you need to do is remove battery. It’s at the backside of your laptop & usually comes with an unlock button. Now remove all other removable stuff, USB Pen, Network Cable etc…
- Turn Laptop upside down
Turn Laptop upside down to stop liquid from leaking further in to system. Keep it upside down for 30 minutes or so to liquid to come out.
- Soak up liquid from the surface
Use an absorbent cloth or paper towel and soak up all visible liquid from the surface.
- Let it dry
Again turn upside down & let it dry for few days, until you sure there’s no moisture inside it. Do not use Dry Heaters or Hair Driers like stuff to dry it. This could do further damage to it. Let it dry naturally.
After few days when you think moisture is gone, Inset battery & turn it on. Play with it for few hours and see if it works Ok. Then connect to wall socket and test it.
If it doesn’t turn on after inserting battery, you should ask for professional help. If you have an extended warranty of your laptop, use it to repair. Good Luck!
